Sorting Dinosaur Teeth

 

Objective – Students will sort dinosaurs into three categories; carnivore, herbivore, and omnivore based on type of teeth they have

Materials – picture of the three different types of teeth dinosaurs may have: long, sharp with serrated edges, short and flat, medium sized sharp teeth, pictures or models of dinosaurs (the best would be with their mouths open to show the types of teeth)

Procedure – Students will (1) look at the three different types of dinosaur teeth, (2) decide which dinosaur belongs with each tooth type, (3) place the dinosaurs with the appropriate tooth type, and (4) tell someone in the classroom how they sorted the dinosaurs and why.
