Time Periods of the Dinosaurs

Mural Project

In Mrs. Vaage's kindergarten class, a wonderful student teacher, Mrs. Prinsen, worked with the children on studying the different dinosaur periods. They decided to paint background murals and then add dinosaurs for each period. In order to do so, they needed to do research about what the landscape would have looked like. They noticed the cycads and gingko plants in the Triassic, the ferns, shrubs and trees in the Jurassic and finally the arrival of flowering plants in the Cretaceous. They have used colors that were similar to illustrations in the dinosaur reference books.
